This Privacy Policy explains how BDO Alerts (the "Service") collects, uses, and shares information when you invite or use the Discord bot. By using the Service, you consent to this Policy.
Information We Collect
- Discord metadata: server ID, channel ID, user ID, message ID, and role ID necessary to operate features (e.g., posting alerts, assigning roles).
- Configuration data: settings you provide (e.g., channel IDs, role IDs, schedule times) stored to deliver functionality.
- Log data: non-content technical logs for diagnostics (timestamps, error messages).
- Third-party data: data from publicly available sources (e.g., boss timers) used solely to render alerts.
We do not intentionally store message content beyond what is necessary for ephemeral operations, unless your server administrators enable features that require it.
How We Use Information
- Provide core features (alerts, timers, scheduling, welcome messages, reaction roles).
- Maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
- Comply with Discord policies and applicable law.
- Respond to support requests.
Data Retention
Configuration data is retained while the bot remains in your server. Diagnostic logs are typically retained for a short period and then deleted. You may request deletion of server-specific configuration by contacting us.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited data with service providers who assist in hosting or running the Service, bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations, or as required by law.
Your Choices
- Remove the bot from your server to stop further data collection.
- Limit requested permissions during invite if features do not require them.
- Contact us to request access or deletion of server-level configuration data.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Children
The Service is intended for users who meet Discord's minimum age requirements and server rules. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your region).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes to the Service or legal requirements. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
